2002 Academy Award Winner, Best Foreign Language Film. One Family's story of a homeland lost and a new one found.
Extraordinary true tale of a Jewish family who flees the Nazi regime in 1938 for a remote farm in Kenya. Abandoning their once-comfortable existence in Germany, Walter Redlich, his wife Jettel and their five-year-old daughter Regina each deal with the harsh realities of their new life. As the war rages on the other side of the world, Walter's relationships with his wife and daughter become increasingly complicated: they struggle between resisting and embracing their new life, while reaching out to each other. |

Notes
|
Some sexual encounters, an implied affair, fleeting nudity, a few disturbing moments and an instance of crass language. |
